Google’s Newest Location-Based Feature

GPS Tracking Enabled Feature Sure To Be Winner

Google’s “Near Me Now”

Finding places such as a restaurant, ATM, bar or bank will never be the same with the launch of search engine giant Google’s newest GPS tracking location-based feature “Near Me Now”. How the feature works is first Google will identify the user’s current location via GPS tracking technology already existing in the user’s cellular phone (At this point in time it appears the feature is only compatible with iphones). Once position has been identified, the user will access the Google mobile homepage where five categories will appear. The user will select the category they are interested in whether it be a hot dance club, local Thai food or the nearest ATM machine. People will be impressed that the “Near Me Now” feature will not only provide the location of a specific establishment but also the businesses contact information, hours of service and reviews are all available!

The location-based feature that utilizes GPS tracking technology is sure to compete with other popular applications such as Urban Spoon.

The combination of GPS tracking and restaurant directories is sure to revolutionize the way people choose their dinning experience, and “Near Me Now” is at the forefront.
